For 20 years Skjoldvor Wiseth went to Bali to paint and met other artists in her sacred Ubud in the winter period. Painting portraits of Balinese people was on of here favorite weekly activity and she made a great portfolio of fascinating portraits of men and woman, workers and princesses, with their beauty and wisdom reflecting the vary aspects of her loved Balinese culture.
"We all have two eyes, a nose and a mouth. Yet I have never met two people who are alike. How can a face express such unique personalities? I never cease to be fascinated by painting portraits, a fascination that has lasted all the winters I have stayed on Bali. There are 7.7 billion people in the world and I would love to paint them all.
A big thank you to all of you who have been models for me and made it possible to create these paintings. This process has meant a lot to me and has been a great joy in my creative development. I hope the pictures will inspire and motivate others to creativity. "
