In her childhood Skjoldvor Margareta found petroglyphs on a rock at the farm. The memories have been carried forward through an amazing series of paintings with people, animals and old ships from historic sites, all in her own style. Using sand is making them alive and exciting, while holding the connection to earth and the history that are carved in rocks and caves all over the world.
"When I was a child we found a petroglyph on the farm, and the wander of these historic stone paintings have always followed me. I love to visit the sites and connect with the ancient art that are cut in the stones " Skjoldvor Margareta, August 2022.
Humans have carved in rocks in many places on the earth for a very long period of time, starting back in BC 6.000 - BC 7.000. All of Skjoldvor Margareta's paintings are petroglyphs from different places in Norway and Sweden. It's amazing how similar the different petroglyphes are in their motives and expressions.
